Facelifting Rancho Park Golf Course in Los Angeles, CA

 before
after

The Rancho Park Golf Course has been open since 1949. It was designed by William Johnson and William P. Bell. An 18-hole, par 71 championship course has hosted over 18 Los Angeles Opens, as well as a few LPGA and Senior tour events between 1978 and 1994. Eventually all that golf takes its tole on course and a facelift was needed. In late 2014, after a highly competitive bid process, the boys at Judge Netting were awarded the $1.3 million contract to over haul the golf netting structure taking 45 days to complete involving a complete demolition and rebuilding of the driving range. If you ask me, I think they did a mighty fine job.

Winter is Coming. . . Nope. It's Gone.

For the majority of the United States, winter is in full effect. Those of us in Southern California had a little bit of a cold spell recently and I feel like we had a cold Christmas. At one point, snow did fall in Orange County and the Inland Empire. Now it's a week into the new year and the sun is shining again. This has made beautiful conditions at the local courses. Grass is green and the greens are groomed and ready to be played on once again. Although, there are some courses I've visited with some minor damage to their golf netting due to the brief storm we had recently. Nothing major but it should be pointed out. Either way, I'm looking forward to another glorious weekend playing 18. See you at the golf course!
